If there is one thing I truly enjoy in life, it is to laugh! I can be very serious and analytical when life calls for it, but I absolutely love a good laugh! Some of my closest friends in life are those who share my warped sense of humor. They get it and without a word, we can look at each other and we are undone!
In fact, there are certain people that if something is said or we find ourselves in a situation, I know I cannot make any eye contact with them or it is all over. I am just sure that someday, we will be asked to leave the restaurant, the movie or some other establishment because we could not reign it in.
Don’t get me wrong. I am very much a realist and not so much a romantic, but I am happiest when I see life with a positive spin. Somehow it makes people more enjoyable, the sky a bit bluer and gives me a reason to get up in the morning
It seems to me that life should hold a lot of laughs, a lot of love and a lot more positive.
That is why I am so jazzed to come across a verse like this one:
“Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. 9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. 10 For,
“Whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep their tongue from evil
and their lips from deceitful speech.
11 They must turn from evil and do good;
they must seek peace and pursue it.
12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”[a]’1 Peter 3:8-12
What a great recipe if you want to not just tolerate life, but actually ‘love it!’
What a good word if you want to see ‘good days’and not bad ones.
Such practical advise that keeps it so very simple: speak good, do good, seek peace and pursue it. These are characteristics of a righteous person and they are the ones who find God attentive to their prayers. Oh Lord, help me be one of those righteous ones!
No doubt, life can be hard and there are battles that have to be fought. However, I hope I don’t ever lose sight of loving life and seeing good days.
Loving, living, laughing….all for His glory!
